Edward Kook
Edward F. Kook (1903–1990) was an American stage lighting lighting engineer, engineer who helped to develop the art form, receiving a Special Tony Award, Special Tony Awards, Tony Award for his contributions in 6th Tony Awards, 1952. He was a lecturer in it at two Ivy League universities, Columbia University and Yale School of Drama, and was president of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology from 1975 to 1977. The Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway Theatre, more commonly known as the Tony Award, recognizes excellence in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League at an annual ceremony in Midtown Manhattan. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances. The Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising eight private research universities in the Northeastern United States. The term ''Ivy League'' is typically used beyond the sports context to refer to the eight schools as a group of elite colleges with connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism.
