Ed Kelly (baseball)
Edward Leo Kelly (December 10, 1888 – November 4, 1928) was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who pitched three games, all in relief, for the Boston Red Sox in 1914. Kelly pitched a total of two and one-thirds innings for the Red Sox, retiring nine of eleven total batters faced and allowing one unearned run. Kelly died in Red Lodge, Montana at the age of 39. Personal and Professional Life Kelly grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island with his seven siblings, all brothers. In 1915 at age 26, he married Margaret K. Schuster in Spokane, Washington. Edward Kelly (born 1946) is a contemporary English painter. He was born in Liverpool, England in 1946. He studied at Liverpool College of Art between 1963–67, during which time he studied in Italy under a John Moores Travel Scholarship. He took a Higher Diploma at Birmingham College of Art between 1967–68, and taught at Chelsea College of Art from 1974 to 1996. Ned Kelly
Edward Kelly (December 1854 – 11 November 1880) was an Australian bushranger, outlaw, gang leader and convicted police-murderer. One of the last bushrangers, he is known for wearing a suit of bulletproof armour during his final shootout with the police. Kelly was born in the then- British colony of Victoria as the third of eight children to Irish parents. His father, a transported convict, died shortly after serving a six-month prison sentence, leaving Kelly, then aged 12, as the eldest male of the household. The Kellys were a poor selector family who saw themselves as downtrodden by the Squattocracy and as victims of persecution by the Victoria Police. While a teenager, Kelly was arrested for associating with bushranger Harry Power and served two prison terms for a variety of offences, the longest stretch being from 1871 to 1874 on a conviction of receiving a stolen horse. Molly Maguires
The Molly Maguires were an Irish 19th-century secret society active in Ireland, Liverpool and parts of the Eastern United States, best known for their activism among Irish-American and Irish immigrant coal miners in Pennsylvania. After a series of often violent conflicts, twenty suspected members of the Molly Maguires were convicted of murder and other crimes and were executed by hanging in 1877 and 1878. This history remains part of local Pennsylvania lore and the actual facts much debated among historians. Edward Joseph Kelly (February 26, 1890 – April 21, 1956) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Boise in Idaho from 1927 until his death in 1956. Biography Early years Kelly was born on February 26, 1890, in The Dalles, Oregon, the third of five children of James Leo and Henrietta (née Wakefield) Kelly. He received his early education at St. Mary's Academy in The Dalles, and classical studies at Columbia University in Portland. Kelly began his studies for the priesthood at St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, California, and proceeded to the Pontifical North American College and Propaganda University in Rome. Edward Wendall Kelly (December 27, 1880 – 1964) was an American bishop of the Methodist Church, elected in 1944. Kelly was born in Mexia, Texas on December 27, 1880. He was ordained in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South in 1917. Prior to his election to the episcopacy, he served as a pastor in places such as Texas, Detroit, Michigan, and St. Louis, Missouri. He also taught evangelism in Schools of Methods. Kelly died in 1964. Edward I (17/18 June 1239 – 7 July 1307), also known as Edward Longshanks and the Hammer of the Scots, was King of England and Lord of Ireland from 1272 to 1307. Concurrently, he ruled the duchies of Aquitaine and Gascony as a vassal of the French king. Before his accession to the throne, he was commonly referred to as the Lord Edward. The eldest son of Henry III, Edward was involved from an early age in the political intrigues of his father's reign, which included a rebellion by the English barons. In 1259, he briefly sided with a baronial reform movement, supporting the Provisions of Oxford.
