Edward Isak Hambro
Edward Isak Hambro (26 December 1851 – 1936) was a Norwegian judge and legal scholar. Personal life He was born in Christiania as a son of Christian Fredrik Hambro and Stine Bødtker. On the maternal side he was a nephew of B. A. Bødtker. On the paternal side he was a first cousin of Edvard Isak Hambro Bull and the educator Edvard Isak Hambro, and a first cousin once removed of the British banker Charles Joachim Hambro. His paternal grandfather was a Danish Jew who had migrated to Norway in 1810. In August 1881 in Fet married his second cousin Julie Sejersted Bødtker. He thus became a brother-in-law of Major General Carl Fredrik Johannes Bødtker. Career He finished his secondary education in 1869, and first studied philology, then jurisprudence from 1873. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. ''Tidsskrift for Rettsvitenskap'' (English: "Journal of Jurisprudence") is a Norwegian law journal. It was established in 1888 by Francis Hagerup to "form a link between legal research in the Nordic countries" and is currently published by Universitetsforlaget. The journal is one of Scandinavia's preeminent academic journals in the field of law. It is ranked as a Level 2 journal, the highest level in the official Norwegian ranking (the Norwegian Scientific Index). ''Norsk Retstidende'' (Rt.) was a periodical published by the Norwegian Bar Association. It was in circulation between 1836 and 2015. From 2016 it became an online-only publication. History and profile The journal was established in 1836, and had its current name since 1909.
