Edward Crew (police Officer)
Sir Edward Crew (born 13 January 1946) was the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police from 1993-1996, and of West Midlands Police from August 1996 – 2002. Sir Edward Crew joined the Metropolitan Police as a Cadet age 16 in 1965. He rose through the ranks to chief superintendent and was appointed to Kent County Constabulary where he served as an assistant and the deputy chief constable. In 1988 he attended the Royal College of Defence Studies. In 1993 he was appointed chief constable of Northamptonshire Police and in 1996 he was appointed chief constable for the West Midlands. He was awarded the Queen's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 1990 and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant on 8 October 1999. He was knighted in 2001 and in the same year awarded an honorary doctorate of laws at Birmingham University. He was knighted in the 2001 New Years Honours List. Paul Scott-Lee
Sir Paul Joseph Scott-Lee QPM DL is a retired British police officer who served as Chief Constable of Suffolk Constabulary and West Midlands Police. Early life and career Scott-Lee was born in Coventry, and educated at Whitley Abbey Comprehensive School. Scott-Lee joined Warwickshire and Coventry Constabulary on direct from school, and on amalgamation of local forces to form the West Midlands Police in 1974, he rose to the rank of Chief Inspector. Promoted to Superintendent in 1988 in Northamptonshire Police, he became an area commander and latterly allocated to headquarters on both corporate planning and quality assurance. He then became assistant chief constable in August 1992 in Kent Constabulary, responsible for all personnel and training matters. Ron Hadfield
Sir Ronald Hadfield (15 July 1939 – 31 January 2013) was the Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police from June 1990 until July 1996. He had previously served with Lancashire Constabulary, Greater Manchester Police and Derbyshire Constabulary and was, from 1987 to 1990, Nottinghamshire Police's chief constable. His nickname was "Biffo". Career During his time with the West Midlands Police, he oversaw the Hadfield Report into the Birmingham pub bombings.
