Edolo J. Giorgi
Edolo J. "Zeke" Giorgi (September 5, 1921 – October 24, 1993) was an American politician. Early life Born in Rockford, Illinois, Giorgi served in the United States Army during World War II and then went to Washington and Lee University. During World War II, he served forty months as an Orientation Sergeant in Armored Corps (Tanks) and Amphibious. After the war, he served as the Deputy Assessor for Rockford Township, Winnebago County, Illinois, Rockford Township. In 1950, he left the assessor's office and became a steward with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, I.B.E.W. Local 196. In 1955, he was elected to the Rockford City Council as alderman for the city's fifth ward. He served for three terms, choosing not to seek reelection in 1967. The Illinois House of Representatives is the lower house of the Illinois General Assembly. The body was created by the first Illinois Constitution adopted in 1818. The House under the current constitution as amended in 1980 consists of 118 representatives elected from individual legislative districts for two-year terms with no limits; redistricted every 10 years, based on the 2010 U.S. census each representative represents approximately 108,734 people.
