Edolo J. Giorgi
Edolo J. "Zeke" Giorgi (September 5, 1921 – October 24, 1993) was an American politician. Early life Born in Rockford, Illinois, Giorgi served in the United States Army during World War II and then went to Washington and Lee University. During World War II, he served forty months as an Orientation Sergeant in Armored Corps (Tanks) and Amphibious. After the war, he served as the Deputy Assessor for Rockford Township, Winnebago County, Illinois, Rockford Township. In 1950, he left the assessor's office and became a steward with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, I.B.E.W. Local 196. In 1955, he was elected to the Rockford City Council as alderman for the city's fifth ward. He served for three terms, choosing not to seek reelection in 1967. The Illinois General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Illinois. It has two chambers, the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate. The ''Rockford Register Star'' is the primary daily newspaper of the Rockford, Illinois, metropolitan area. The Belvidere Assembly Plant (BVAP) is an automobile production facility owned and operated by Stellantis North America. The factory opened in 1965 in Belvidere, Illinois, United States, and currently assembles the Jeep Cherokee. History The factory was built in 1964 and 1965 in the south part of Belvidere, Illinois, adjacent to U.S. Route 20. The first production line vehicle was made on July 7, 1965, assembling the new Chrysler C platform vechiles.
