Edmonton ( ) is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton is situated on the North Saskatchewan River and is the centre of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region, which is surrounded by Alberta's central region. Michael J. Cooper (born March 8, 1984) is a Canadian politician who was first elected to represent the riding of St. Albert—Edmonton in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election. Cooper was re-elected in both the 2019 and 2021 federal elections and currently serves as the Conservative Shadow Minister for Democratic Reform.
