Edmonton Airports, officially the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority, was formed in 1990, under the ''Regional Airports Authorities Act'' passed by the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1989, and is responsible for the management and operation of two airports in the Edmonton area. It is a non-profit organisation and, as per the act, has no shareholders and does not pay dividends. The authority is governed by a 15-member board of directors appointed to represent the various municipalities and the Government of Canada (2 members). These municipalities include the cities of Edmonton (six members), Leduc (one member), Leduc County (one member), Parkland County (one member), Strathcona County (one member) and Sturgeon County (one member). Sturgeon County
Sturgeon County is a municipal district the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is north of Edmonton and west of the North Saskatchewan River. Sturgeon County is located in Division No. 11 and was named for the Sturgeon River. Halifax International Airport Authority
The Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) is a Canadian airport authority charged with operating Halifax Stanfield International Airport on behalf of Transport Canada. The HIAA was established in November 1995 in advance of changes to the operation of Canadian airports by the federal government. The federal government through its Department of Transport had owned and operated the airport since its construction in 1960, however by the 1990s it was examining ways to reduce the payroll and scope of Transport Canada's activities.
