Edmonds Arts Festival
The Edmonds Arts Festival is held in Edmonds, Washington during Father's Day weekend annually in June. The Festival first opened in 1957, and is one of the oldest and largest art festivals in Washington. The Festival celebrates and promotes the artwork of various local and national artists, showing an average of about 200 artists per year. Run by volunteers alone, the Festival has an array of sponsorship to support its mission. All proceeds from the Festival are used to support scholarships, schools, and community grants to promote the arts and expand cultural experiences. Held at the Frances Anderson Cultural Center in Edmonds, the outside lawn area of the center is arranged with a variety of booths where works of fine art and artisan crafts are displayed for sale directly from the artists. Edmonds, Washington
Edmonds is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located in the southwest corner of the county, facing Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west. The city is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and is located north of Seattle and southwest of Everett. With a population of 39,709 residents in the 2010 U.S. census, Edmonds is the third most populous city in the county. The estimated population in 2019 was 42,605. Edmonds was established in 1876 by logger George Brackett, who bought the land claim of an earlier settler. It was incorporated as a city in 1890, shortly before the arrival of the Great Northern Railway. Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments with a medium of drying oil as the binder.
