Edinburgh South Community Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the Inch district of south-eastern Edinburgh. Formed as a youth club in the 1960s, they successfully applied to have a senior team enter the East of Scotland Football League for the 2020–21 season as Edinburgh South FC. As their usual ground (also used by other sports organisations including Lismore Rugby Club, situated close to the Cameron Toll Shopping Centre and Peffermill Playing Fields used by Edinburgh University) forms part of a public park and cannot be enclosed for the EoSFL as regulations require, they arranged to initially ground-share with Dalkeith Thistle, and also immediately advertised for a full squad of senior players, manager and coaching staff. The Inch, Edinburgh
The Inch is a district of Edinburgh, Scotland, located to the south of Inch Park in the south of the city. It is located 2 miles (3 km) south south-east of central Edinburgh. It incorporates the Inch housing development, Inch Park and the category A listed Inch House, a former country house now used as a community centre. The associated Inch Doocot or dovecot, also a category A listed building, is situated close by, west of Gilmerton Road. Etymology The word "Inch" derives from the Scots Gaelic ''innis'' which can mean either "island" or a dry area within marshland or a river meadow. This suggests that the land on which it stands was originally dry land in the flood plain of the nearby Braid Burn. Dalkeith ( ; gd, Dail Cheith, IPA: ˆt̪alˈçe is a town in Midlothian, Scotland, on the River Esk. It was granted a burgh of barony in 1401 and a burgh of regality in 1540. The Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) is a group of women's football divisions in Scotland. Craiglockhart
Craiglockhart (; gd, Creag Longairt) is a suburb in the south west of Edinburgh, Scotland, lying between Colinton to the south, Morningside to the east Merchiston to the north east, and Longstone and Kingsknowe to the west. The Water of Leith is also to the west. History The name is first recorded in 1278 as "Crag quam Stephanus Loccard miles tenuit", thus "Craig (or rock) of Loccard". Edinburgh University Sports Union (EUSU) is the representative body of sixty-seven University of Edinburgh sports clubs. Edinburgh University sports teams compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and Scottish Student Sport leagues. Edinburgh was ranked 3rd in the BUCS rankings in 2017/18, 2016/17, 2015/16, 2014/15, 4th in 2018/19 and 2021/22, 5th in 2013/14, and 6th in 2012/13 and 2011/12.
