Ediciones Destino is a Spanish publishing house, founded by the editors of the weekly Destino in the 1942. Destino's catalogue includes the most emblematic Spanish authors of the post-war period such as Miguel Delibes, Camilo José Cela, Carmen Martín Gaite, Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio, Ana María Matute, Carmen Laforet, etc. and great foreign authors such as George Orwell, Bohumil Hrabal or Naguib Mahfuz. Andrés Trapiello
Andrés Trapiello (born 1953) is a noted Spanish poet and writer. He was born in Manzaneda de Torío, León, and studied at the University of Valladolid. He moved to Madrid in 1975, and has lived in the capital ever since. His first book of poems, ''Junto al agua,'' appeared in 1980, under an imprint (Entregas y Libros de La Ventura) that he had set up himself with Juan Manuel Bonet. His debut novel ''La tinta simpática'' appeared in 1988, followed in 1990 by ''El gato encerrado'', the first volume of his diaries. Premio Nadal is a Spanish literary prize awarded annually by the publishing house Ediciones Destino, part of Planeta Group, Planeta. It has been awarded every year on 6 January since 1944. Eduardo Lago (born 16 June 1954) is a Spanish novelist, translator, and literary critic, born in Madrid and currently living in Manhattan, New York, United States. In 2002, he was the recipient of the Bartolomé March Award for Excellence in Literary Criticism for his critical comparison of three Spanish translations of James Joyce’s novel, '' Ulysses''. Antonio Soler (born Málaga, 28 September 1956) is a Spanish novelist, screenwriter and journalist. Biography In 1983, Soler won the Jauja prize for short stories with ''Muerte canina (A Dog’s Death)''. Naguib Mahfouz Abdelaziz Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Basha ( arz, نجيب محفوظ عبد العزيز ابراهيم احمد الباشا, ; 11 December 1911 – 30 August 2006) was an Egyptian writer who won the 1988 Nobel Prize in Literature. ''Destino'' (Spanish for 'destiny') was a Spanish weekly magazine published in Spain between 1937 and 1980, initially in Burgos and from 1939 in Barcelona.
