Abraham Edel
Abraham Edel (6 December 1908 – 22 June 2007) was a North American philosopher and ethicist. He was the younger brother of the North American literary critic and biographer Leon Edel, and the uncle of the composer Joel Mandelbaum. He was married three times; his first two wives were fellow academics and co-authors, the anthropologist May Mandelbaum Edel, and the philosopher Elizabeth Flower respectively. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Edel attended McGill University, Oxford University and Columbia University. He taught at City College of New York for more than 40 years, and then held a research appointment at the University of Pennsylvania until his death. He was the recipient of numerous academic honors. Edele Jernskjæg
Edele Jernskjæg (died 1512) was a Danish noble, courtier and the royal mistress of King John I of Denmark. Daughter of the poor noble Mikkel Andersen Jernskjæg and Margrethe Andersdatter af Særslev, she was made maid of honor of the queen, Christina of Saxony, in 1496. She followed the queen to Stockholm in 1499, where her affair with the king drew attention. In Sweden, it was noticed that she used the king's personal sleigh, and the political opposition used the relationship between her and the king in their criticism against John's rule. In 1501, she returned to Denmark with the king, while the queen stayed behind. Edel Paragliders was a South Korean aircraft manufacturer based in Gwangju and headed by Sung Heon Song. Mega Records was a Danish record label established in 1983. It was renamed Edel-Mega Records when it was acquired by Edel Music in 2001. Mega's catalogue is now managed by Playground Music Scandinavia, which was spun off from Edel in 2010. Their most internationally successful artist is the Swedish pop group Ace of Base, who have to date sold over 30 million records worldwide. Nicki French also released a single under their label.
