Eddy Barrows
Eduardo Barros (born August 18, 1967) is a Brazilian comic book artist, better known by his pen name of Eddy Barrows. He is best known for his work at DC Comics on such titles as ''Birds of Prey (comics), Birds of Prey'', ''Countdown to Adventure'', ''Action Comics'', ''Superman (comic book), Superman'', ''Teen Titans'', and ''52 (comics), 52''. Early life Barrows was born on in Belém do Pará, Brazil. He and his parents moved to Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais when he was 2 years old. During his childhood, his mother introduced him to ''Monica's Gang, Turma da Mônica'' – a Brazilian comic by Maurício de Sousa – and works from the Disney company. She read them to him, and Barrows immediately fell in love with comics immediately, eventually starting to draw. While never having gone to school specifically for art, Barrows studied animation for two to three years before becoming a working artist. The New York Comic Con is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to Western comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, cosplay, toys, movies, and television. It was first held in 2006. Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to attract new readers to independent comic book stores. It usually takes place on the first Saturday of May and is often cross-promoted with the release of a superhero film. Over two thousand participating stores give away millions of comic books annually. The event was proposed by Joe Field in the August 2001 issue of '' Comics & Games Retailer'' magazine and Free Comic Book Day was launched in 2002, coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. Blackest Night
"Blackest Night" is a 2009–10 American comic book crossover storyline published by DC Comics, consisting of an eponymous central miniseries, written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Ivan Reis, along with a number of tie-in issues. ''Blackest Night'' involves Nekron, a personified force of death who reanimates deceased superheroes and seeks to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. James Dale Robinson is a British writer of American comic books and screenplays best known for co-creating the character of Starman (Jack Knight) with Tony Harris and reviving the Justice Society of America in the late 1990s. Sean Kelley McKeever (born 1972) is an American comic book writer. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin he grew up in Eagle River. Career Since the end of his creator-owned teen drama series ''The Waiting Place'', which was published from 1997 to 2002, McKeever has written several series for Marvel Comics, including ''The Incredible Hulk'', ''Sentinel'', '' Mary Jane'', ''Inhumans'' and ''Gravity''. Eddie Berganza (born circa 1965) is an American comics writer and editor, known for his editorial tenure at DC Comics from the early 1990s to the late 2010s, rising at one point to the position of Executive Editor. He was demoted, then terminated in 2017, following sexual harassment allegations. Career Berganza was born in Guatemala, and moved to the United States at the age of seven. He graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Studies. Berganza began working for DC Comics in the early 1990s, primarily as an editor.
