Big Sky Conference
The Big Sky Conference (BSC) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. Member institutions are located in the western United States in the eight states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Four affiliate members each participate in one sport: two from California are football–only participants and two from the Northeast participate only in men's golf. Steve Aggers
Steve Aggers (born May 31, 1948) is an American retired college basketball coach. He is best known for his tenures as head coach of NCAA Division I programs at Eastern Washington and Loyola Marymount. Aggers was hired as head coach at Eastern Washington after assistant coaching stints at Pepperdine and Kansas State under Tom Asbury. He had previously been head coach at Wayne State in Nebraska and the University of Great Falls. He led the Eagles to their first Big Sky Conference title in school history in 2000. He was hired as head coach at Loyola Marymount University in 2000. He was fired in 2005 after an 11–17 season in 2004–05. National Invitation Tournament
The National Invitational Tournament (NIT) is a men's college basketball tournament operated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Played at regional sites and traditionally at Madison Square Garden (Final Four) in New York City each March and April, it was founded in 1938 and was originally the most prestigious post-season showcase for college basketball. The 2021 tournament, in which all games were played in Denton and Frisco, Texas, marked the first time that the NIT's semifinals and championship games were not hosted at Madison Square Garden; MSG won't play host to the games entirely starting in 2023. Over time, it became eclipsed by the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, which is now known informally as "March Madness." The 2020–21 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Kansas in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which was the Jayhawks' 123rd basketball season. The 2014–15 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team represented Georgetown University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by 11th year head coach John Thompson III, were members of the Big East Conference, and played their home games at the Verizon Center. Shantay Legans
Shantay Andrade Legans (born July 30, 1981) is an American college basketball coach who is currently men's basketball head coach at Portland Pilots men's basketball, Portland. Legans grew up in Goleta, California and played college basketball at California Golden Bears men's basketball, California and Fresno State Bulldogs men's basketball, Fresno State. He briefly played professional basketball in the Netherlands before beginning a coaching career. From 2007 to 2009, Legans was an assistant coach at the Laguna Blanca School. Legans then was an assistant coach at Eastern Washington under head coaches Kirk Earlywine and Jim Hayford during a period where Eastern Washington turned around from a losing program to one of the top teams in the Big Sky Conference. Jim Hayford
Jim Hayford (born May 5, 1967) is an American college basketball head coach who most recently coached at Seattle University. He previously coached at Eastern Washington University and Division III Whitworth University where he won about 80 percent of his games. His career winning percentage ranks among the top 10 among all active NCAA Division III coaches at the time. On November 11, 2021, Hayford resigned after it was reported that he had twice repeated racial slurs.
