Eastern Ranges
The Eastern Ranges is an Australian rules football team in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition. The club is a founding member of the competition (1992) and has produced several players for the Australian Football League including Kade Simpson, Rory Sloane, Nick Malceski, David Wirrpanda, Jess Sinclair, Damian Cupido, Lindsay Gilbee, Chris Scott, Brad Scott, Matthew Bate, Jonathon Patton, Chris Knights, Jaidyn Stephenson, and Hayden Crozier. NAB League
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. The competition is one of the primary sources of recruitment for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. It provides an opportunity for talented regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Jaidyn Stephenson
Jaidyn Stephenson (born 15 January 1999) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), having been initially drafted to the Collingwood Football Club. AFL career He was drafted by Collingwood with their first selection and sixth overall in the 2017 national draft. He made his debut in the 34-point loss to at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the opening round of the 2018 season. His performance in the 48-point win against in round four of the 2018 season—in which he recorded thirteen disposals, five goals, four marks and three tackles—earned him the round nomination for the AFL Rising Star. Troy Simmonds
Troy Simmonds (born 13 July 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne, Fremantle and Richmond in the Australian Football League. AFL career Melbourne: 1999 – 2001 Simmonds was first drafted by Melbourne in the 1999 pre-season draft. He played only five 5 games in 1999 but then played 22 in 2000, including the Grand Final, during which he was carried from the field on a stretcher following a head-on charge by Essendon's Michael Long. Fremantle: 2002 – 2004 In 2002 he was traded to Fremantle as part of a three way trade that included Daniel Bandy moving to the Western Bulldogs and Craig Ellis moving to Melbourne. Fred Campbell (Australian Footballer)
Fred Campbell (born 14 December 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Sydney and St Kilda in the AFL in 1999 and 2000. Originally from the Pioneer Football Club in Alice Springs, Campbell was drafted by the Swans with the 40th selection in the 1997 AFL draft, three selections before the Swans selected future dual Brownlow Medalist, dual premiership player, four-time All-Australian, member of the Indigenous Team of the Century and 350 game player Adam Goodes. After five games for Sydney in 1999 he left the club to return home to Alice Springs. Jason Saddington
Jason Saddington (born 23 October 1979) is a retired Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He was recruited as the number 11 draft pick in the 1997 AFL Draft from Eastern Ranges. Career Sydney Jason made his AFL debut for the Sydney Swans in Round 1, 1998 against Port Adelaide. He had a consistent debut season in 1998 and was nominated for the Norwich Rising Star award that year. He kicked 4 goals against the Kangaroos in Round 4 of 2004 in one of his best matches of his career, and was noted as a consistent rebounding backman with a strong mark. However, a serious knee injury in Round 10, 2004 against the Western Bulldogs interrupted his career and the very slow process of recovery resulted in Jason being traded to the Carlton Football Club at the end of the 2005 season. Mark Bolton
Mark Bolton (born 3 April 1979) is a retired Australian rules footballer. He was recruited to Essendon with pick 4 in the 1997 National Draft, via Ringwood, Victoria and Eastern U18. He made his debut in 1998 and went on to play 124 games. He announced his retirement at the 2007 Crichton Medal Count. Bolton completed his secondary education at Ringwood Secondary College and continued on to complete a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) at Swinburne University of Technology. Bolton joined University Blacks for season 2010. Adam Kingsley (born 20 August 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer and senior coach of the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL). Kane Johnson
Kane "Sugar" Johnson (born 15 March 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer and former captain of the Richmond Football Club and dual premiership winner with the Adelaide Crows in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career He began his career with the Adelaide Crows in 1996 and played in their 1997 and 1998 premiership sides before his 20th birthday. Brett Chandler
Brett Chandler (born 11 July 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy Football Club, Fitzroy and North Melbourne Football Club, North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL). Chandler made his way into the Fitzroy team from the reserves, after originally coming to the club from the Eastern Ranges Under 18s. He played his first AFL season in 1995 and in 1996 averaged 16 disposals. When the Brisbane Lions were formed, Chandler wasn't amongst the Fitzroy players that headed to Queensland, instead joining reigning premiers North Melbourne. Blake Grima
Blake Grima (born 8 June 1984) is an Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL) between 2004 and 2008. He was drafted from the Eastern Ranges club in the TAC Cup with the 38th selection in the 2002 AFL Draft. He played 12 games in five seasons at the Kangaroos before he was delisted at the end of the 2007 season, but redrafted with the 72nd selection in the 2007 AFL Draft.
