Eastern Metropolitan Bypass
The Eastern Metropolitan Bypass (known simply as both ''E.M. Bypass'' and ''EM Bypass'') is a (Including Kamalgazi to Baruipur extension) major road on the east side of Kolkata. It connects Ultadanga (North Kolkata) to Baruipur Puratan Bazar (South Kolkata). The road is a major link to Salt Lake and New Town. EM Bypass is part of both State Highway 1 and State Highway 3. Much high-end construction and development in Kolkata has been centred around the Bypass. It was designed as a six to eight-lane bypass to lessen traffic congestion on the entire stretch of Gariahat Road. Several consequent connections have been made to Gariahat Road to further move traffic to the Bypass. Parama Island Flyover
Maa Flyover ( bn, মা উড়ালপুল; also known as Parama Island Flyover) is a long flyover in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is built along Park Circus Connector and connects EM Bypass with Park Circus 7-Point Crossing, then to Vidyasagar Setu to Howrah via the existing AJC Bose Road Flyover. After both ramps of the flyover connecting it with AJC Bose Road Flyover were completed in early 2019, the flyover forms a seamless, no-signal traffic corridor from EM Bypass to PG Hospital. The total length of the flyover, including the ramps, is 9.2 km and is the fourth longest flyover in the entire country. The flyover started its construction in February 2010. The project had an original deadline of August 2012, and the deadline was extended multiple times. New Town is a planned satellite city of Kolkata, India. It comes under North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to Kolkata and covered by New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA). Aurobindo Sarani
Aurobindo Sarani (formerly Grey Street) is one of the oldest and most congested main roads in north part of Kolkata. Many buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws use the road. It connects Ultadanga with Shobhabazar. West of Gouribari, Ultadanga Main Road (Bidhannagar Road) becomes Aurobindo Sarani. Shobhabazar
Shobhabazar (also spelt Sovabazar; bn, শোভাবাজার) is a neighbourhood of North Kolkata, in Kolkata district, in the Indian state of West Bengal. Hatibagan is a neighbourhood of North Kolkata in Kolkata district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Overview The area is under Shyampukur and Burtolla police stations. It is next to Shyambazar. East Kolkata Wetlands
The East Calcutta Wetlands, (22 0 27’ N 88 0 27’ E), are a complex of natural and human-made wetlands lying east of the city of Calcutta (Kolkata), of West Bengal in India. The wetlands cover 125 square kilometres and include salt marshes, and agricultural fields, sewage farms and settling ponds. The wetlands are also used to treat Kolkata's sewage, and the nutrients contained in the wastewater sustain fish farms and agriculture.
