Eastern Iowa Community Colleges
The Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) includes three community colleges stretched along the Mississippi River in the U.S. state of Iowa. Eastern Iowa Community Colleges consists of the Iowa counties of Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott. The EICC administrative offices are in Davenport. EICC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the colleges are approved by the Iowa Department of Education and the Board of Regents. Individual programs are accredited by associations within their respective fields. History EICC was established in 1965 by the Iowa General Assembly as one of 15 community college merged areas. The move combined Clinton Junior College, Muscatine Junior College and the vocational-technical programs of the Davenport schools. In 1979 the District acquired Palmer Junior College to make Scott Community College a comprehensive institution. Iowa General Assembly
The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Composition The Iowa General Assembly consists of 50 senators and 100 representatives. Each senator represents about 60,927 people and each representative about 30,464 people . Clinton Community College (CCC) is a two-year community college in Clinton, Iowa. The college was founded in 1946 in classrooms at the local high school. Its first class of less than 100 students was primarily composed of veterans returning from World War II. The college offers both associate in arts/college transfer classes and a number of career technology programs. Its fall enrollment regularly exceeds 1,500 students. Articulation, or more specifically course articulation, is the process of comparing the content of courses that are transferred between postsecondary institutions such as TAFE institutes, colleges or universities. In other words, course articulation is the process by which one institution matches its courses or requirements to coursework completed at another institution. Davenport is a city in and the county seat of Scott County, Iowa, United States. Located along the Mississippi River on the eastern border of the state, it is the largest of the Quad Cities, a metropolitan area with a population of 384,324 and a combined statistical area population of 474,019, ranking as the 147th-largest MSA and 91st-largest CSA in the nation.
