Eastern Administrative Okrug
Eastern Administrative Okrug (russian: Восто́чный администрати́вный о́круг, ), or Vostochny Administrative Okrug, is one of the twelve high-level territorial divisions (administrative okrugs) of the federal city of Moscow, Russia.Law #13-47 As of the 2010 Census, its population was 1,452,759, up from 1,394,497 recorded during the 2002 Census. Administrative Okrugs Of Moscow
The federal city of Moscow, Russia is divided into administrative districts called okrugs, which are a subdivision of state administration. The administrative okrugs are further divided into municipal formations called districts (''raions'') and settlements (''poseleniy''), which are local self-government entities. Overview Administratively, the city is divided into 12 administrative okrugs, which in turn are subdivided into 146 administrative units. Municipally, each of the 146 administrative units have municipal status as 125 municipal districts and 21 municipal settlements. On July 1, 2012, Moscow's land area grew by 1,490 sq km (580 sq mi), taking in territory from Moscow Oblast and called New Moscow. Due to their former municipal status within the territory which became New Moscow, the municipal settlements of Shcherbinka and Troitsk are styled "municipal okrugs." Golyanovo District
Golyanovo District (russian: райо́н Голья́ново) is a district of Eastern Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. Population: It is one of the largest districts in Moscow, both in terms of the geographic area and population size. Located 9-15 km to the east of the Kremlin, this large territory is bounded by MKAD (Moscow Automobile Ring Road), Shchyolkovskoye Shosse, and the national park "Losiny Ostrov". Golyanovo is named after minnow (''golyan'' in Russian), which was once abundant in the local lakes. The first mention of Golyanovo dates back to the 17th century. Sokolniki District (russian: райо́н Соко́льники) is a administrative divisions of Moscow, district of the Eastern Administrative Okrug of the federal cities of Russia, federal city of Moscow located in the north-east corner of the city. Metrogorodok District
Metrogorodok District (russian: район Метрогородок) is the northernmost administrative district (55° 50' 19.26" 37° 44' 55.32"E) (raion) of Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The district has a size of . 90% of the Metrogorodok's area is occupied by the Losiny Ostrov National Park. Kosino-Ukhtomsky District
Kosino-Ukhtomsky District (russian: Косино-Ухтомский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. Izmaylovo District
Izmaylovo District (russian: райо́н Изма́йлово) is a district in the Eastern Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. Population: It is a historical part of Moscow, the ancestral land of the Romanov noble family. History The history of the village of Izmaylovo goes back to 1389. Since the days of Ivan the Terrible it was an estate of boyars in the Romanov family. In 1654, it was inherited by Alexis of Russia, who built a château on an artificial island around 1664—1690. At about the same time, in 1671—1679, a medieval church was rebuilt into ''Church of Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos''. The château was later expanded by architects Konstantin Thon and Mikhail Bykovsky into Izmaylovo Estate. It survived the fire of 1812, and is now an outdoor tourist destination.
