Eastbrook High School is a public school located outside Marion, Indiana. The school teaches students from Upland, Washington Township, Matthews, and Van Buren. Description Eastbrook High School is located at 560 S. 900 E. in Grant County, Indiana. It is the only high school in the Eastbrook Community School district. Marion is a city in Grant County, Indiana, United States. The population was 29,948 as of the 2010 United States Census. The city is the county seat of Grant County. It is named for Francis Marion, a brigadier general from South Carolina in the American Revolutionary War. The city is home to Indiana Wesleyan University, the largest evangelical Christian university in the Midwest and Indiana's largest private university, when online and regional campuses in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois are included. Mississinewa High School is a high school in Gas City, Indiana, with more than 800 students. The nickname of the students and the athletic teams is "Mississinewa Indians". This school is a part of the Mississinewa Community School Corporation, or MCSC, which also features Westview Elementary School, Northview Elementary School, and R.J. Baskett Middle School. Oak Hill High School is a high school located outside of Converse, Indiana. The School was founded in 1959, combining nearby high schools Sweetser, Swayzee, and Converse. Upland (pronounced as "up-land") is a town in Jefferson Township, Grant County, Indiana, United States. The population was 3,845 at the 2010 census. It is most notable for being the home of Taylor University, a Christian college with 2,103 students, as of 2016. History Most of the land that is now part of Upland was purchased by John Oswalt in the 1830s. He was a speculator, and believed that a canal connecting Indianapolis and Fort Wayne might pass through the area. The town was formed in the late 1860s by Jacob Bugher, who planned for it to be a depot point on the Indiana Central Railroad. The town's name comes from the fact it was believed to be the highest point on the rail line between Columbus and Chicago.
