Royal is a village in Antelope County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 63 at the 2010 census. History The community was established in 1890 (or 1880), and was originally named "Savage". The community was renamed after Royal Thayer, who helped establish the post office. An unusual point in the town's history is the defunct "Zoo Nebraska", which was near Royal.
