Earth Vs. The Spider
''Earth vs. the Spider'' (a.k.a. ''The Spider'') is an independently made 1958 American black-and-white science fiction horror film produced and directed by Bert I. Gordon, who also provided the plot upon which the screenplay by George Worthing Yates and Laszlo Gorog was based. Though the title suggests a global crisis, the film focuses entirely on a small town being terrorized by a giant spider whose origin is never explained. The film stars Ed Kemmer, June Kenney and Eugene Persson. The special effects were by Bert I. Gordon and Paul Blaisdell. ''Earth vs. the Spider'' was released by American International Pictures as a double feature in different film markets with either ''The Brain Eaters'' or ''The Screaming Skull''. The double feature is a motion picture industry phenomenon in which theatres would exhibit two films for the price of one, supplanting an earlier format in which one feature film and various short subject reels would be shown. The Fly (1958 Film)
''The Fly'' is a 1958 American science fiction horror film and the first installment in ''The Fly'' film series. The film was produced and directed by Kurt Neumann and stars David Hedison, Patricia Owens, Vincent Price, and Herbert Marshall. The screenplay by James Clavell is based on the 1957 short story of the same name by George Langelaan. The film tells the story of a scientist who is transformed into a grotesque human–fly hybrid after a common house fly enters unseen into a molecular transporter with which he is experimenting, resulting in his atoms being combined with those of the insect. Richard Earl D'Agostin, was an American rock and roll musician best known for touring with Eddie Cochran. D'Agostin sang and played piano and guitar as the front man for The Swingers, composed of drummer Gene Riggio, lead guitar Dave Oster, saxophonist Paul Kaufman, bassist Wayne Messick, and D'Agostin's brother Larry D'Agostin on guitar. Hank Patterson
Elmer Calvin "Hank" Patterson (October 9, 1888 – August 23, 1975) was an American actor and musician. He is known foremost for playing two recurring characters on three television series: the stableman Hank Miller on ''Gunsmoke'' and farmer Fred Ziffel on both ''Petticoat Junction'' and '' Green Acres''.
