Earle Graser
Earle Graser (March3, 1909April8, 1941) was an American radio actor at radio station WXYZ, Detroit, Michigan. He was best known as the voice of the Lone Ranger from April 1933 to April 1941. Early life Graser was born in the manufacturing city of Berlin (now known as Kitchener) in Waterloo County, Ontario, under the name Earl Walter Grasser. His parents were Solomon Grasser and Mary Anne Klemmer, who had both been born in rural townships in the county. Earl's great-grandfather, William Grasser, was born in Germany, but moved to Canada and worked as a farmer. Earl's father, Solomon, had worked as a farm laborer, but later became a salesman at a grocery store. Berlin was a city notable for its contemporary German culture and heritage, and during the First World War, it was a focal point for anti-German sentiment in Canada. Brace Beemer (December 9, 1902 – March 1, 1965) was an American radio actor and announcer at radio station WXYZ (AM), Detroit, Michigan. He is best known as the radio voice of the Lone Ranger. ''The Lone Ranger'' Brace Beemer became the third radio voice of the Lone Ranger on April 18, 1941, after the death of Earle Graser and remained so until the series' last new episode on September 3, 1954. During the 13 years that Beemer played the title character, he was required by contract to restrict his radio acting to that one role until the program left the air. The experienced and popular Western film actor, Clayton Moore, was chosen to take over the role for the television series. Although Beemer had the right voice and had made many public appearances as the Ranger, he had no experience as a film actor, as he preferred radio and live performing to television. George Seaton (April 17, 1911 – July 28, 1979) was an American screenwriter, playwright, film director and producer, and theatre director. Life and career Early life Seaton was born George Edward Stenius in South Bend, Indiana, of Swedish descent, the son of Olga (Berglund) and Charles Stenius, who was a chef and restaurant manager. He was baptized as Roman Catholic. He grew up in a Detroit Jewish neighborhood, and described himself as a " Shabas goy". James Jewell (February 20, 1906 – August 5, 1975) was an American radio actor, producer and director at radio station WXYZ, Detroit, Michigan. Early life Jewell was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 20. 1906. His parents were William I Jewell (born 1873) who immigrated to the US from Canada in 1875, and Clara (born 1881 in Michigan). His grandfather had come to Canada from Ireland with a group of Welsh singers. His mother operated a grocery store in the Corktown section of Detroit. Professional career Jewell first got into radio in 1927. with a background of summer stock, vaudeville, burlesque, and even touring with a troupe of marionettes. George Trendle
George Washington Trendle (July 4, 1884 – May 10, 1972) was an American lawyer and businessman best known as the producer of the ''Lone Ranger'' radio and television programs along with ''The Green Hornet'' and ''Sergeant Preston of the Yukon''. Movie theaters During the 1920s, George W. Trendle was a Detroit lawyer who had established a reputation as a tough negotiator specializing in movie contracts and leases.
