EPpy Awards
The EPPY Awards are a premier accolade for media-affiliated websites, presented by '' Editor & Publisher'' magazine. Designed in 1996 to honor newspaper companies that did an "outstanding job in creating online services," the awards were originally given in partnership between ''Mediaweek ''Mediaweek'' is an online trade website serving the Australian media industry. It provides news regarding the Australian newspaper, television, radio, magazine and outdoor advertising industries. Published since 1901, ''Editor & Publisher'' is the self-described "bible of the newspaper industry." Originally based in New York City, the magazine's offices are currently located in Brentwood, Tennessee. Overview ''Editor & Publisher'' covers all aspects of the newspaper industry, including circulation data, job listings, and industry awards. ''Mediaweek'' was a New York–based trade magazine owned by e5 Global Media. It is part of Adweek Media Group, which in October 2008 announced the merging of its three separate editorial teams (''Adweek'', '' Brandweek'' and Mediaweek) into one. In 2011, ''Mediaweek'' and ''Brandweek'' were merged into Adweek. The chief editor was Michael Burgi. ''Mediaweek'' was founded in January 1991 by BPI Publications, parent company of ''Billboard''. The founding editors were Craig Reiss and Bill Gloede. Reiss became the editor-in-chief of parent Adweek Magazines in April of that year. Gloede became editor and remained until 2002, at which time Brian Moran, the magazine's former executive editor, moved up to editor. He was succeeded by Burgi in 2004. Hyatt Regency Atlanta
The Hyatt Regency Atlanta is a business hotel located on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Opened in 1967 as the Regency Hyatt House, John C. Portman, Jr.'s revolutionary 22-story atrium design for the hotel has influenced hotel design enormously in the years since. The hotel instantly became one of the most recognized buildings in Atlanta. The building consists of the main "Atrium Tower" and two extensions, completed in 1971 and 1982, respectively, containing a total of 1,260 rooms. On top of the Hyatt Regency is a revolving restaurant called Polaris, located just beneath the blue dome-shaped structure which gives the hotel its distinctive profile. The ''American Journalism Review'' (''AJR'') was an American magazine covering topics in journalism. It was launched in 1977 as the ''Washington Journalism Review'' by journalist Roger Kranz. It ceased publication in 2015. History and profile The first issue of the magazine appeared in October 1977. In 1987 it was acquired by Henry Catto, a former U.S. ambassador, and his wife Jessica Hobby Catto, who was part of the family that published the ''Houston Post''. The Cattos donated the publication to the University of Maryland, College Park in 1987. In 1992 Rem Rieder became the editor. It took the name ''American Journalism Review'' in 1993. The university's Philip Merrill College of Journalism took control of the journal in 2011. The Rio is a hotel and casino near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. It is owned by Dreamscape Companies LLC and operated by Caesars Entertainment. It includes a casino and 2,520 suites. It features a Brazilian theme based on Rio Carnival. The Rio opened on January 15, 1990, with a casino and 424 suites. It was the first all-suite hotel in the Las Vegas Valley. It was owned by Anthony Marnell and built by Marnell Corrao Associates. The property struggled during its first two years because of its off-Strip location, but it would eventually thrive. The Rio's success prompted a number of hotel expansions in the 1990s. The hotel includes the three-wing Ipanema Tower, which stands at 20 stories.
