Emir (singer)
Emir Sevinç (born 7 September 1980) is a Turkish singer and songwriter. Born in Istanbul, he is a graduate of radio and television studies of Marmara University communication faculty. Emir released his first album ''Ben Sen Olamam'' in 2009. He made his debut with the album's lead single "Ben Sen Olamam", written and composed by Tarkan. The songs "Ben Sen Olamam", "Tornistan", "Eline Düştüm", "Şiki Şiki", and "Aşk mı Savaş mı?" from the album were all made into music videos. In 2012, he released his second album ''Ateşten Bi' Rüzgar''. Separate music videos were later released for the songs "Sudan Sebep", "Veda Gecesi", and "Makina". In 2013, Emir released his first single "Tutuşmayan Kalmasın". In 2015, his first extended play ''Kendimden'' was released. The songs "Bi' Ağla", and "Yaylı Yatak" were both accompanied by music videos. In 2009, his song "Eline Düştüm" was awarded the "Most Requested Song" award at the Istanbul FM Music Awards. Çatalca
Çatalca (Metrae; ) is a city and a rural district in Istanbul, Turkey. It is the largest district in Istanbul by area. It is in East Thrace, on the ridge between the Marmara and the Black Sea. Most people living in Çatalca are either farmers or those visiting vacation homes. Many families from Istanbul come to Çatalca during weekends to hike in the forests or have picnics. History Antiquity Çatalca's ancient Greek name was Ergisce or Ergiske ( grc, Ἐργίσκη, Ergískē). It was an ancient Greek city in Thrace, located in the region of the Propontis. According to ancient texts, the Greek name is after Ergiscus (Ἐργίσκος), a son of Poseidon through the naiad (nymph) Aba (Ἄβα). Aysel Gürel
Gönül Aysel Gürel (7 February 1929 – 17 February 2008) was a Turkish lyricist and actress. Besides her lyrics, which were performed by singers throughout Turkey, she was known for her outlandish clothing, make up and wigs. Biography Aysel Gürel was born in 1929 in Denizli, Turkey, in the western part of the country. She graduated from Istanbul University with a faculty of literature degree. Her lyrics were performed by such noted Turkish singers as Sezen Aksu. Besides lyric writing, Gürel also worked as an actress, drama player and a Turkologist. in 2007, Gürel appeared in a Turkish television commercial for Pepsi. Gürel was admitted to Metropolitan Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul in December 2007. She was reportedly ill with lung cancer. She died of chronic bronchitis at the age of 79 on 17 February 2008 in Istanbul. Gürel was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery following a funeral at Teşvikiye Mosque. Karaköy (), the modern name for the old Galata, is a commercial quarter in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, located at the northern part of the Golden Horn mouth on the European side of Bosphorus. Tophane
Tophane () is a quarter in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, running downhill from Galata to the shore of the Bosphorus where it joins up with Karaköy to the southwest and Fındıklı to the northeast. In the Ottoman era, it was the city's first industrial zone. Despite rapid gentrification, parts of Tophane remain conservative and there have been clashes over some developments in the area.
