Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. Slagelse Dream Team was a handball team from the town of Slagelse, Denmark. It is sometimes referred to as "Slagelse DT", and is the professional first team for the handball club Slagelse Forenede Håndboldklubber (Slagelse FH). The club was catapulted into the limelight in 2000 when Anja Andersen took the head coach job and in a very short time led the women's team to the first Danish victory in the Women's EHF Champions League final in 2004. History Slagelse Forenede Håndboldklubber was created by a merger of the two clubs Slagelse HK and Marievang IF who each had their own success, especially on youth level. Slagelse HK's women's team was promoted twice to the premier division around 1990, though the team was relegated the following season on both occasions. HC Lada Togliatti (russian: ХК Лада) is a Russian professional ice hockey team based in Tolyatti, Russia. They play in the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). Due to a lack of a satisfactory arena, the KHL expelled the team. The team dropped one level to the VHL for the 2010–11 season. Ferencvárosi Torna Club is a Hungarian women's handball team from Budapest, that is part of the multi-sports club Ferencvárosi TC. Nicknamed ''Fradi'', the team plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top level championship in Hungary. They are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won eleven Hungarian championships and as many Hungarian cup titles. FTC also enjoy a good reputation in continental competitions: they lifted the EHF Cup Winners' Cup trophy in 1978, 2011, and 2012, and they were also crowned as the EHF Cup winners in 2006. Dinamo Volgograd (russian: Динамо Волгоград) is a Russian women's handball club from Volgograd. Founded in 1972 as Burevestnik Volgograd, it represented Rotor Volgograd following the collapse of the Soviet Union and was subsequently named Aqva before taking its current name in 2003. Dynamo is the most successful team in the Russian Super League with nine titles, and in the 2001-02 season it set a record winning all the matches.
