EFAF European Championship
The European Championship is a continental competition of American football founded in 1983 and contested by the member countries of IFAF Europe. The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the IFAF World Cup. This Championship is also known as, "the Golden Fair League." Until 2014 the European Federation of American Football coordinated the competition. The first Championship tournament was held in 1983. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine On 24 February 2022, in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs or plays; if they fail, they turn over the football to the defense, but if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs to continue the drive. 2014 EFAF European Championship
The 2014 European Championship was the 13th European Championship of American football. The competition was held in Austria between May 30 and June 7, 2014. The top three teams qualified for the 2015 IFAF World Championship. Qualification Since 2003, the European Championships have been held in three different stages, with the winners of the C- and B-Pool tournaments each being promoted to the next-highest level. The winner of the C-Pool tournament in 2012 was Serbia. The B-Pool tournament 2013 took place from August 31 to September 7 in Milan, Italy. The 2005 European Championship of American football was hosted by Sweden between 28 July to 30 July 2005. The tournament was played between the three nations from the A-pool and the champion from B-pool played on 2004. The tournament had round-robin qualification. 2023 European Championship Of American Football
The 2023 European Championship is the 16th European Championship in American football. The preliminary round will be played around Europe from 8 October to 5 November 2022. The final round will be played in August and October 2023. Group A, first round The first round was played around Europe from 8 October to 5 November 2022. It saw 11 teams divided to four groups. Russia was due to be the 12th nation participating as the 3rd team in group 1 but the nation was removed from the tournament due to ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
