Edward Ezell
Edward Clinton Ezell (7 Nov 1939, Indianapolis, Indiana – 23 Dec 1993, Northern Virginia)https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JRKK-VY4 was an American author and professor who served as National Firearms Collection curator at the National Museum of American History, administered by the Smithsonian Institution. He was also founding Director of the Institute for Research on Small Arms in International Security. Background Ezell received an A.B. from Butler University in 1961 and M.A. from the University of Delaware two years later, where he was a Hagley Fellow. In 1969, he received his Ph.D. in the history of science and technology from Case Institute of Technology. He taught at North Carolina State University and Sangamon State University, Springfield, Illinois. Glenn Ezell
Glenn Wayne Ezell (October 29, 1944 – November 9, 2020) was an American front-office executive in Major League Baseball, as well as an MLB coach and minor league catcher and manager. He threw and batted right-handed, stood 6 feet, 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighed 185 pounds (84 kg). Ezell batted .268 with 23 home runs in 661 minor league games. Ezell was born in Kentwood, Louisiana, and began his professional career as a catcher in the New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres organizations (1966–74; 1977). He worked for 12 seasons as a coach in the Major Leagues, with the Texas Rangers (1983–85), Kansas City Royals (1989–94), Detroit Tigers (1996), and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2001–02). He managed in the farm systems of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Padres, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, Royals and Tigers for all or parts of 13 seasons between 1975 and 2000. Shahine Ezell (Dallas, Texas) is a film and television actor, record producer, talent manager and songwriter. Ezell is Leighton Meester's talent manager as well as the songwriter and record producer of "The Nomads". He attended Booker T. William Ezell
William Ezell (December 23, 1892 – August 2, 1963), was an American blues, jazz, ragtime and boogie-woogie pianist and occasional singer, who was also billed as Will Ezell. He regularly contributed to recordings made by Paramount Records in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Ezell was noted by the music journalist Bruce Eder as "a technically brilliant pianist, showing the strong influence of jazz as well as blues in his work". Ezell's "Pitchin' Boogie" and Cow Cow Davenport's "Cow Cow Blues" were amongst the earliest boogie-woogie recordings. However, Pinetop Smith's "Pinetop's Boogie Woogie" was the first to use the phrase in the title of a song. Two of Ezell's more notable solo recordings, "Heifer Dust" and "Barrel House Woman" (both 1929), have been noted for containing "elements of both blues and barrelhouse boogie-woogie in their form". Ezell's Chicken
Ezell's Famous Chicken is a Seattle fast food restaurant. The first restaurant was opened on February 3, 1984, in Seattle's Central District neighborhood, near Garfield High School. The restaurant chain has 12 other locations in the Puget Sound region, including a location on the Microsoft campus in Redmond that opened in 2006. In 2015, the chain opened its Spokane location, its first restaurant outside of Western Washington. The first international location for Ezell's opened in June 2015, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Sharjah location has since closed. Ezell's was made famous when talk show host Oprah Winfrey called it her favorite fried chicken.
