Eyeball Records is an independent record label originally established in NYC out of Apartment 4C on 14th St at Avenue A by Alex Saavedra and Vincent Li. The label later moved to Kearny, New Jersey. Eyeball has released albums by artists such as Thursday, My Chemical Romance, and Murder by Death, focusing on indie, alternative rock and punk rock. In 2020 the label began releasing exclusive cassette and t-shirt bundles exclusively through The Hyv. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock, or alt-rock, is a category of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1970s and became widely popular in the 1990s. "Alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from Popular culture, mainstream or commercial rock or pop music. E For Explosion
E for Explosion are an American alternative rock/shoegazing band formed by former JamisonParker singer Jamison Covington after the group's breakup in 2005. The only two constant members of the band were Covington (vocals, guitar) and his wife, Dai Britain Covington (keyboards). After undergoing a hiatus in 2013, the band self-released two EPs in 2020. History The band formed upon the breakup of JamisonParker and was originally called Dance With The Dead, this was strictly a solo project of Covington. Covington would later change the name of the project to "Covington," and release a number of demos under that moniker. He then recruited touring musicians and began playing under the name "E For Explosion," a name chosen because of Covington's admiration of science fiction writer Ray Bradbury. The Stiletto Formal
The Stiletto Formal was a self-proclaimed "eccentric rock and roll" band from Phoenix, Arizona, and were one of the few rock bands featuring a cello and other exotic instruments and effects as an integral part of their sound. In addition to these qualities and unusual time signatures, Kyle Howard's falsetto provided distinction in their music. Their lyrics are often constructed into a short story format. They had gained a local fanbase in Arizona and were attracting national attention after playing nationwide tours and appearing on the Vans Warped Tour; however, band frontman Kyle Howard relocated to Los Angeles in 2009, and the group's Facebook and Myspace profiles have since been devoid of group activity. Sleep Station
Sleep Station is an American indie rock band on Eyeball Records from Bergen County, New Jersey that revolves around frontman David Debiak. While some Sleep Station albums have been recorded with a full band (After the War, The Pride of Chester James), others have essentially been David Debiak solo albums (Von Cosel, The Blood of Our Our Fathers), featuring very little, if any, instrumentation other than David Debiak's own guitar playing. Tiger Lou
Swedish band Tiger Lou was formed in Nyköping 2001 by Rasmus Kellerman. After several EPs, the first full-length album Is My Head Still On? was released in 2004 and was followed in 2005 with The Loyal. Rasmus Kellerman is also known as Araki. On the albums Tiger Lou is a solo project with Kellerman writing lyrics and playing nearly every instrumental part himself. Live, however, he is backed up by Erik Welén (bass), Mathias Johansson(Guitar) and Pontus Levahn (Drums). According to Kellerman, the name ''Tiger Lou'' is taken from a character called ''Tiger Lu'' in Corey Yuen's 1993 movie ''Fong Sai-yuk'', although he says that "no one knows where the extra O came from" on the band's official site. The Number Twelve Looks Like You
The Number Twelve Looks Like You is an American mathcore band, formed in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, in 2002. The band went on a six-year hiatus in 2010. In May 2016, they performed a secret show and then announced their reunion. History Formation and Brutal Records years (2002–2004) In early 2002, Jesse Korman, Chree Conger and Justin Pedrick met through mutual acquaintances and recruited Jamie McIlroy and Alexis Pareja which formed the bass-free outfit And Ever. The band was reportedly formed by "accident" where Pedrick was originally the only vocalist and Korman played drums. Korman then apparently realized he was a "terrible drummer", and as a result, took up being a second vocalist for the band wherein Conger then played drums in his place. After releasing a five-song demo and playing a handful of songs together, the band's style began to change slightly. Pompeii was an American indie rock band active from 2004 - 2016 comprising Dean Stafford (vocals, guitar), Erik Johnson (guitar, keyboards), Colin Butler (bass), and Rob Davidson (drums). Formed in Austin, Texas in 2004, the band is best known for their melodic and ambient rock sound, which features the addition of classical strings. Pompeii's style is noted as having a saturated ambient, elegant sound. New Atlantic were an early 1990s British electronic dance music duo from Southport, Merseyside. They were made up of Richard Lloyd (born 28 November 1966) and Cameron Saunders (born 11 June 1965), and best known for their UK #12 hit "I Know" in March 1992. The CD single of "I Know" contained an alternate mix, which was performed by the group onstage on the UK television programme, ''The Hitman and Her''. New Atlantic were signed to Liverpool's 3 Beat Records, which in turn signed the track to Pete Waterman's PWL Records; a remix was done by Love Decade, which became the most recognizable version. Kiss Kiss (band)
Kiss Kiss was an American indie rock band formed by Joshua Benash (guitar, synth, vocals) and Jared Karns (drums), with their first album released in February 2007. Although their music is primarily indie in style, it also includes an electric violin. History The band first formed at the State University of New York at Purchase, where Joshua Benash and Jared Karns had previously played in other bands. The band took their name from a series of short stories by Roald Dahl. Their debut full-length album, '' Reality vs. The Optimist'', was released on February 6, 2007, under the New Jersey-based Eyeball Records. However, it had been recorded and prepared for release many months earlier, and several music tracks had leaked onto the Internet by November 2006. A "tour edition" of the CD, limited to 1,000 copies, was sold at shows between the November leak of the album and the February release date. Karate High School
Karate High School was an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 2004 by frontman, multi-instrumentalist and producer Paul McGuire. On March 21, 2006, the band released their debut album, ''Arcade Rock''. Karate High School's second album, ''The League Of Tomorrow'', was released on September 4, 2007, which further honed the band's layered, keyboard-driven style of alternative rock. On November 11, 2008, Karate High School announced that they had signed to Eyeball Records, and would release a new record entitled Invaders on May 19, 2009. Killing Tree (sometimes abbreviated as TKT) were a hardcore punk band from Chicago, Illinois. They were a side project of Tim McIlrath during the early days of Rise Against and featured former Rise Against guitarist Todd Mohney and bassist Geoff Reu of Baxter and Holy Roman Empire. Career The Killing Tree was formed shortly after Tim McIlrath's other band, Rise Against, in 1999. The band's main line-up consisted of McIlrath on guitar and vocals, Reu on bass and backing vocals, Mohney on guitar, and Remis on drums.
