Exeter, California
Exeter is a city in Tulare County, California, United States. It is situated in the San Joaquin Valley near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The population was 10,334 at the 2010 census. Exeter is located on State Highway 65, south of Highway 198 and east of Highway 99. History Before the arrival of European settlers, Yokuts settled around an area in an oak forest two miles north of Exeter. The current town site was a plain that possessed elk, antelope, frogs, and deer. Rocky Hill, to the east of the city, offered shelter to native tribes when the plain flooded. Several caves on the hill contain petroglyphs, though some of the most important of these were destroyed by local vandals/looters and poorly managed and unsupervised steer. Floyd Collier
Floyd Lee Collier (May 10, 1924 – September 3, 2002) was an American football player who played at the tackle position. He played college football for San Jose State and USC, military football for the 1944 Saint Mary's Pre-Flight Air Devils football team, and professional football for the 1948 San Francisco 49ers. Jeriome Robertson
Jeriome Paul Robertson (March 30, 1977 – May 29, 2010) was an American left-handed baseball pitcher who played three seasons in Major League Baseball for the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians. In 51 pitching appearances (32 starts), Robertson posted a win–loss record of 16–12 with a 5.71 earned run average and 111 strikeouts in innings of work. Robertson attended Exeter Union High School before being drafted by the Astros in 1995. He spent the next seven years moving up the minor league system before making his debut in September 2002. His most productive year was 2003, where he won 15 games and finished seventh in Rookie of the Year voting. Adam Christopher Pettyjohn (born June 11, 1977) is an American former professional baseball relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds. Listed at and during his playing career, he batted right-handed and threw left-handed. Biography Pettyjohn attended Exeter Union High School in California and then Fresno State University, where he was a teammate of pitcher Jeff Weaver. In 1998, Pettyjohn was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the second round (73rd overall). He signed for a $392,500 bonus. Brad Mills (manager)
James Bradley Mills (born January 19, 1957) is a former manager of the Houston Astros and a former Major League Baseball (MLB) player. He is the father of retired professional baseball player Beau Mills. Early life Mills was educated at Exeter Union High School in California, College of the Sequoias, and the University of Arizona, where he was drafted in the 17th round by the Montreal Expos. Baseball career Playing career Mills reached the major leagues in 1980 and went on to post a .256 batting average with one home run and 12 RBI in 106 games played for the Expos (1980–83). Satoshi Hirayama
was an American baseball player who played for the Hiroshima Carp in Japan's Central League. Hirayama was an All-Star twice in Japan. Early life and amateur career Hirayama got the nickname "Fibber" from his father's inability to pronounce "February", the month of his birth. He was originally from Exeter, California. At 12 years old, following the signing of Executive Order 9066, he was interned at the Poston War Relocation Center with his father and two brothers. After three years, when World War II ended, he was released and began attending Exeter Union High School from which he graduated in 1947. Hirayama was a star athlete at Fresno State, playing both baseball and football as a halfback.
