Exequiel Alejandro Palacios (; born 5 October 1998) is an Argentine professional Association football, footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Bayer Leverkusen and the Argentina national football team, Argentina national team. He was a member of the Argentina team that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Club career Palacios is a youth exponent from Club Atlético River Plate. He made his Argentine Primera División, league debut on 8 November 2015 against Newell's Old Boys. Palacios made his final appearance for his boyhood club in the final of the 2018–19 Copa Argentina, Copa Argentina on 13 December 2019, playing 79 minutes of a 3–0 victory over Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, Central Córdoba. The Alberto José Armando Stadium is a football stadium located in La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Widely known as La Bombonera (; en, The chocolate box) due to its shape, with a "flat" stand on one side of the pitch and three steep stands round the rest of the stadium.
