Li Hsing
Lee Hsing, or Li Hsing (; born ; 20 May 1930 – 19 August 2021) was a Taiwanese film director. He directed more than 30 films between 1959 and 1986. Li Zida was born in Shanghai in 1930, and settled in Taiwan in 1948, studying at National Taiwan Normal University. Li taught for one year, then became a reporter for the ''Independence Evening Post'', a newspaper published by his father , in 1954. Ou Wei
Ou Wei (; 16 September 1937 – December 1973) was a Taiwanese actor. Ou Wei was born Huang Huang-chi () in present-day Xinhua District, Tainan, on 16 September 1937. His father, a billboard painter, died when Huang was five years old. His formal education ended after middle school. Huang worked for the police before leaving to pursue acting. He found that theatre did not suit him, and as such he joined director's Ho Chi-ming's film studio. Huang made his Hokkien film debut in 1957, and took his stage name, Ou Wei, from the character he portrayed in ''Green Mountain Bloodshed'', a historical drama about the rebellion of a tribe of Taiwanese aborigines against Japanese rule. While Ou Wei served in the Republic of China Air Force from 1958 to 1961, Ho Chi-ming had closed his film studio in 1959. List Of Taiwanese Submissions For The Academy Award For Best Foreign Language Film
The Republic of China (Taiwan) has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1957, and regularly since 1980. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. For the purposes of Oscar submissions, AMPAS recognizes Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong as separate entities, and each one regularly submits a film to the competition. This is a list of submissions to the 45th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. Tsui Fu-sheng
Tsui Fu-sheng (; 8 July 1931 – 26 December 2013) was a Taiwanese actor. He began acting after completed military service in the Republic of China Air Force. Fu was awarded the Golden Horse for Best Supporting Actor in 1966. His role in ''The Road'' was honored with the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor in 1968. At the time of his death, Tsui was in ill health, out of the public eye, and in retirement for two decades. He was hospitalized in September 2013, and later sent home. Tsui fell ill on 25 December 2013, and died the next day, aged 82. Tang Pao-yun
Tang Pao-yun (; 1944 – 14 May 1999) was a Taiwanese actress. She was born in 1944, and attended an acting school run by the Central Motion Picture Corporation. After ending her studies in 1961, she appeared in her first films the next year. Tang was named best supporting actress at the 1962 Asian Film Festival, and won the same award at the first Golden Horse Film Festival. Tang's role in ''Beautiful Duckling'' (1965) was considered a breakout performance. She would later co-star in other films alongside Ou Wei, namely ''Love is an Elusive Wind'' (1972). Soon after ''Beautiful Duckling'', another film directed by Li Hsing and starring Tang was released, '' Four Loves'' (1965). Other notable credits included ''Orchids and My Love'' (1966), ''Remember Chu'' (1966), and ''Lonely 17'' (1967).
