Ewell East Railway Station
Ewell East is a railway station in Ewell, Surrey. It has two platforms, one for services to Sutton, West Croydon and London, the other for services to Epsom. The ticket office and main entrance is on the London-bound side, accessed from Cheam Road. On the Epsom-bound side, there is an additional entrance from a footpath linking the Cheam Road with Reigate Road near the North East Surrey College of Technology. It was opened on 10 May 1847 with the Croydon and Epsom Railway. This was subsumed into the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. Train service is now provided by Southern. Ewell East has been part of Travelcard Zone 6 since January 2008. Services All services at Ewell East are operated by Southern using EMUs. The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR; known also as the Brighton line, the Brighton Railway or the Brighton) was a railway company in the United Kingdom from 1846 to 1922. Ewell West railway station is one of two stations in Ewell (in the Epsom and Ewell district) in Surrey, England. The station is served by South Western Railway. It is down the line from . The Sutton and Mole Valley lines were constructed between 1847 and 1868 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, the London and South Western Railway and the LBSCR-sponsored Horsham, Dorking and Leatherhead Railway. Ewell ( , ) is a suburban area with a village centre in the borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, approximately south of central London and northeast of Epsom. In the 2011 Census, the settlement had a population of 34,872, a majority of which (73%) is in the ABC1 social class, except the Ruxley Ward that is C2DE.
