Livonia ( lv, Vidzeme; russian: Видземе) is one of the five multi-member constituencies of the Saeima, the national legislature of Latvia. The constituency was established in 1922 when the Saeima was established following Latvia's independence from the Soviet Union. It consists of the city of Jūrmala and municipalities of Ādaži, Alūksne, Cēsis, Gulbene, Ķekava, Limbaži, Madona, Mārupe, Ogre, Olaine, Ropaži, Salaspils, Saulkrasti, Sigulda, Smiltene, Valka, Valmiera and Varakļāni in the region of Livonia. Miss Latvia (, ''Miss and Mr. Latvia, LLC'') is a national beauty pageant in Latvia. History The pageant is organized by Agency Miss and Mr Latvia () which is led by Swiss-Latvian model and World Miss University 2004 Jūlija Djadenko-Müggler and Miss Latvia 2005 Kristīne Djadenko. Until 2015 the agency ''Mis Latvija'' was the only official organization entitled to organize the national beauty contests Miss and Mister Latvia, which it did since 1990. Miss World 1998, the 48th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 26 November 1998 at the Lake Berjaya Mahé Resort in Mahé Island, Seychelles. 86 delegates from around the world competed for the crown. Ronan Keating, then lead singer of Boyzone, and MTV's Eden Harel hosted the event. Miss World 1999
Miss World 1999, the 49th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 4 December 1999 at the Olympia Hall in London, United Kingdom. The pageant was hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and model Melanie Sykes. The 1999 pageant attracted 94 delegates from all over the world. The 1999 pageant also marked the first time that Scotland and Wales fielded their respective delegates. At the end of the event, 20-year-old Miss India Yukta Mookhey went on to win the Miss World 1999 crown. The preliminary swimsuit competition was held in Malta. Latvia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Angel in Disguise" written by Marats Ogļezņevs. The song was performed by the duo Musiqq. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final ''Eirodziesma 2011'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of four shows: two heats, one Second Chance round and a final. In the heats, five entries were selected to advance from each show: three entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a seven-member jury panel. In the Second Chance round, two entries were selected to advance: one selected based on a public vote and one selected by the jury. Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, with " Eat Your Salad" performed by . The Latvian broadcaster (LTV) organised the national final ''2022'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the contest. 17 songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of two shows: a semi-final and a final. In the semi-final on 5 February 2022, ten entries were selected to advance alongside a wildcard selected by LTV. Eleven songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 12 February 2022 where a public televote and a seven-member jury panel selected "Eat Your Salad" performed by Citi Zēni as the winner.
