Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings. Whether for recreation or for sport, it is typically practiced at ski resorts, which provide such services as ski lifts, artificial snow making, snow grooming, restaurants, and ski patrol. Bad Hindelang
Bad Hindelang is a municipality in the district of Oberallgäu in Bavaria in Germany. As of 2008 it has a population of 4,915. Its sulphur spring was used for cures in the 19th century and today the municipality is a major health resort. Geography The main town of Bad Hindelang lies at an altitude of 825 metres above sea level. The municipality includes the following areas, Bad Hindelang, Vorderhindelang, Bad Oberdorf, Hinterstein, Oberjoch and Unterjoch. Landscape The town hall is a former hunting lodge, built in 1660 by Prince Bishop of Augsburg, Sigismund Franz, Archduke of Tyrol.
