Evgeny Ryasensky
Evgeny Alexandrovich Ryasensky (russian: Евгений Александрович Рясенский; born July 18, 1987), or Yevgeni Ryasenski, is a Russian professional ice hockey defenseman. He is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Ryasensky made his senior debut in the Russian Superleague with Ak Bars Kazan before transferring to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk for the inaugural season of the KHL in 2008-09 season. Over the next six seasons Ryasensky spent time also with HC CSKA Moscow and SKA Saint Petersburg. Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; russian: Континентальная хоккейная лига (КХЛ), Kontinental'naya khokkeynaya liga) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. It comprises member clubs based in Russia (19), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (1) and China (1) for a total of 22 clubs. It was considered in 2015 to be the premier professional ice hockey league in Europe and Asia, and the second-strongest in the world behind North America's National Hockey League. The KHL had in 2017 the highest total attendance in Europe with 5.32 million spectators in the regular season and third-highest average attendance in Europe with 6,121 spectators per game in the regular season. Nikolai Sergeyevich Belov (born August 13, 1987) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for IF Björklöven in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest league of ice hockey in Sweden. He has previously played in the top Russian leagues with Dynamo Moscow, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, Ak Bars Kazan, SKA Saint Petersburg and Traktor Chelyabinsk. The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). First officially held at the 1920 Summer Olympics, it is the sport's highest profile annual international tournament. The IIHF was created in 1908 while the European Championships, the precursor to the World Championships, were first held in 1910. The tournament held at the 1920 Summer Olympics is recognized as the first Ice Hockey World Championship. From 1920 to 1968, the Olympic hockey tournament was also considered the World Championship for that year. The first World Championship that was held as an individual event was in 1930 in which twelve nations participated. In 1931, ten teams played a series of round-robin format qualifying rounds to determine which nations participated in the medal round. Russia Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Russian men's national ice hockey team (russian: Сборная России по хоккею с шайбой) is the national men's ice hockey team of Russia, overseen by the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia. As of 2021, they were rated third in the IIHF World Ranking. The team has competed internationally from 1992 until a 2022 ban, and is recognized by the IIHF as the successor to the Soviet Union team and CIS team. Russia has been one of the most successful national ice hockey teams in the world and a member of the so-called " Big Six," the unofficial group of the six strongest men's ice hockey nations, along with Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, and the United States. 2012 IIHF World Championship
The 2012 IIHF World Championship was the 76th IIHF World Championship, an annual international ice hockey tournament. It took place between 4–20 May 2012 in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden. This tournament determined the countries' seeding for the men's Olympic Ice Hockey tournament in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics, and for all countries participating in the qualification program leading up to the Olympics. Russia won the tournament by defeating Slovakia 6–2 in the Final game; the Russians finished the tournament undefeated with a record of 10–0–0, becoming the first team to win every game in regulation since the Soviet Union in the 1989 World Championships. The Czech Republic captured the bronze medal by defeating co-host Finland 3–2 in the bronze medal game.
