Tula, Russia
Tula ( rus, Тула, p=ˈtulə) is the largest city and the administrative center of Tula Oblast in Russia, located south of Moscow. Tula is located in the northern Central Russian Upland on the banks of the Upa River, a tributary of the Oka. At the 2010 census, Tula had a population of 501,169, an increase from 481,216 in 2002, making it the 32nd largest city in Russia by population. A primarily industrial city, Tula was a fortress at the border of the Principality of Ryazan. The city was seized by Ivan Bolotnikov, and withstood a four-month siege by the Tsar's army. The 2018 UEC European Track Championships was the ninth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, Scotland, between 2 and 7 August 2018. The 2013 UEC European Track Championships was the fourth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Omnisport Arena in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, between 18 and 20 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All ten Olympic events, ( sprint, team sprint, keirin, team pursuit and omnium, for both men and women) and the non-Olympic men's madison championship and points races for both genders were held as part of the championships. A highly competitive championships, gold medals were share among five teams, and medals among ten teams, with Germany leading the medal table with three gold and three silver medals.
