Ball Park Music are an Australian five-piece indie rock band from Brisbane, who formed in 2008. The band consists of Sam Cromack, Jennifer Boyce, Paul Furness, Dean Hanson and Daniel Hanson. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". ''Puddinghead'' is the third studio album by Australian indie pop band Ball Park Music, released on 4 April 2014 by Stop Start and Inertia Music. Supported by two singles—"She Only Loves Me When I'm There" and "Trippin' the Light Fantastic",—''Puddinghead'' was the band's first self-produced album. The band promoted the album with two national tours, the Puddinghead Tour in April/May 2014 and the Trippin' the Light Fantastic tour in September/October 2014. The band also embarked on a short European tour in November. At the 2014 ARIA Music Awards, it was nominated for Best Rock Album. ''Good Mood'' is the fifth studio album by Australian indie pop band Ball Park Music. It was released on 16 February 2018, debuting at number five on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Albums chart. The album was promoted with two national tours from February 2018 and May 2019 respectively, as well as three singles including the certified Music recording certification, platinum "Exactly How You Are". At the ARIA Music Awards of 2018, the album was nominated for three awards: ARIA Award for Producer of the Year, Producer of the Year, ARIA Award for Engineer of the Year, Engineer of the Year and ARIA Award for Best Cover Art, Best Cover Art. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free.
