''Everest'' is a 2015 Biographical film, biographical survival film, survival adventure film directed and produced by Baltasar Kormákur and written by William Nicholson (writer), William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy. Baltasar Kormákur Baltasarsson (born 27 February 1966) is an Icelandic actor, theater and film director, and film producer. He is best known for directing the films ''101 Reykjavík'', '' The Sea'', ''A Little Trip to Heaven'', '' Contraband'', '' 2 Guns'', and ''Everest''. Life and career Baltasar was born in Reykjavík, Iceland. His father is the Spanish painter Baltasar Samper. His son is actor Baltasar Breki Samper. Mick Audsley (born January 11, 1949 in London, England) is a British film and television editor with more than thirty film credits. He is a frequent collaborator of directors Mike Newell and Stephen Frears, having edited 15 films for Frears. Life and career Audsley was educated at Sevenoaks School, a boarding independent school in the town of Sevenoaks in Kent, in South East England. The survival film is a film genre in which one or more characters make an effort at physical survival. It often overlaps with other film genres. It is a subgenre of the adventure film, along with swashbuckler films, war films, and safari films.
