Everaldo Marques da Silva (11 September 1944 – 28 October 1974), nicknamed Everaldo, was a footballer from Brazil who played as a left back for Grêmio and the Brazil national team. He won the 1970 FIFA World Cup. The golden star in Grêmio's flag was added in 1970 in his homage. Club career Everaldo was born in Porto Alegre. He spent his entire club career with Grêmio except for a loan at Juventude. He died as a result of a car crash on 28 October 1974 in Santa Cruz do Sul. International career Everaldo had 24 caps with the Brazil national team between 1967 and 1972. The first one was obtained in June 1967. Everaldo won the 1970 FIFA World Cup. He was defeated only once, in October 1968. Everaldo Costa Azevedo (born July 24, 1944) is a Brazilian former professional boxer who competed from 1963 to 1982. Azevedo was ranked as the best Junior Welterweight in the world by the WBA in 1974 and No. 2 in the world by the WBC in 1972. Azevedo would fight for the World Title twice in his career. His first world title challenge came in 1972 when he lost a 15-round decision to the champion Bruno Arcari. The second world title fight Azevedo lost a controversial 15-round decision to Carlos Palomino. Azevedo was winning after the first 10 rounds and Palomino had only won the last five rounds. Everaldo Dias Pereira (born 22 February 1956), better known as Pastor Everaldo, is a Brazilian pastor, businessman and politician affiliated with the Social Christian Party (PSC). He is a pastor in the Assembly of God church and has been the national president of the PSC. He was the PSC's candidate for President of Brazil in the 2014 election, in which he placed fifth, with 0.75 percent of the total votes. Everaldo Matsuura (born 1 October 1970) is a Brazilian chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 2011. Born in Maringá, Matsuura won the Brazilian Chess Championship in 1991 and 2016. He won the Pan American Club Championship in 1993 playing for team C. X. Joinville. By finishing 6th in the American Continental Championship in 2007, Matsuura qualified to the FIDE World Cup held later in the same year. He was eliminated from this latter competition in the first round after losing to Sergey Karjakin by 0–2. In 2018 Matsuura won the CXC Brazil Open in Curitiba.
