''Ever the Silver Cord Be Loosed'' is the first studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Weird Owl, released by the label Tee Pee Records on February 17, 2009. The album was released following their 2007 Extended play, EP entitled ''Nuclear Psychology''. Recording The album was recorded in a studio over a short period of around five days, making use of instruments such as a Roland VK-7 electronic keyboard as well as instruments and Guitar amplifier, amplifiers manufactured by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, Fender and Wurlitzer. The album's cover art was designed by Weird Owl's guitarist and lead vocalist, Trevor Tyrrell, alongside his wife. Weird Owl are an American psychedelic rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2004. Their first recording, ''Nuclear Psychology'', was released in 2007. ''Build Your Beast a Fire'' is the second studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Weird Owl, released on July 26, 2011 by Tee Pee Records. The album was released following their 2009 album ''Ever the Silver Cord Be Loosed''. Recording The initial recording of the album was completed at Verdant Studio in Vermont with Justin Pizzoferrato, followed by further recording and Audio mixing (recorded music), mixing at the Drawing Room in Kingston, New York with Justin Rice. Trevor Tyrrell, guitarist and lead vocalist for Weird Owl, when asked about lyrical inspirations for the album, stated that "While the lyrics do bear some allusion to certain occult practices, I also feel a kinship on a visceral and primordial level: the act of watching fire and rejoicing in both its creative and destructive power. The Roland VK-7 is an electronic keyboard introduced in 1997 which simulates the sound of an electromechanical Hammond organ. Like other electronic musical instruments that emulate (or "clone") the sound of the electromechanical tonewheel-based organs formerly manufactured by Hammond, the VK-7 is referred to as a clonewheel organ. Currently it is replaced by the VK-8 and the VK-88. Since transporting the heavy, vintage electromechanical Hammond organs to performances was cumbersome, there was a strong demand amongst musicians for way of recreating the Hammond sound in a more portable fashion. The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, usually referred to as simply Wurlitzer, is an American company started in Cincinnati in 1853 by German immigrant (Franz) Rudolph Wurlitzer. The company initially imported stringed, woodwind and brass instruments from Germany for resale in the United States. Wurlitzer enjoyed initial success, largely due to defense contracts to provide musical instruments to the U.S. military.
