Eve In Exile
''Eve in Exile'' is a 1919 American silent drama film directed by Burton George based upon a novel by Cosmo Hamilton. It stars stage actress Charlotte Wallker and was distributed by Pathe Exchange. The film is preserved in the Library of Congress collection. Plot As described in a film magazine, when financial ruin overtakes her father, Eve Ricardo (Walker) is sent to live with an aunt in a small town in New England. Here she meets and falls in love with Paul Armitage (Oakman), an author, who returns her affection. However, John Sheen (Santschi) has also fallen in love with Eve and resolves to take any measures necessary to win her. His sister, Mrs. Nina Carey (Palmer), feels the same way about Paul. This leads to various complications. Lois Zellner
Lois Zellner (born Lois Grier; January 24, 1883 – January 14, 1937) was an American screenwriter active during Hollywood's silent era. She also went by the name Lois Leeson later in her career. Biography Beginnings Born Lois Grier to Clark Grier and Minnie Walthour, Zellner was raised in Macon, Georgia, where she met and married her first husband, John Wyncoup Murray Sr., in 1899 at age 15. The pair had three children before divorcing around 1911. Zellner moved to New York and got into advertising before finding her way as a journalist and writing scenarios on the side, pitching them but struggling to sell them. Hollywood career In 1913, she married Arthur J. Zellner, future studio publicity man, in New York. George Periolat
George Periolat (February 5, 1874 – February 20, 1940) was an American actor. Biography Born in Chicago, Illinois, George Periolat began his career as a Broadway actor. Making his film debut with the Essanay Studios in Chicago, he moved to Hollywood in 1911 and starred in over 170 films throughout his career. He was a very versatile actor, often playing multiple roles in a single production, as when he played two leading characters, the count and the crook, in the 1916 production of '' The Counterfeit Earl''. The story of Norma Desmond, though fictitious, is not far removed from the plight of many silent film stars, and the advent of the sound film brought about a swift end to Periolat's career. He made his last appearance in 1932's ''What Price Hollywood?''. On February 20, 1940, he committed suicide by ingesting arsenic in his Hollywood mansion.
