Evany José Metzker
Evany José Metzker was a Brazilian blogger and journalist who in 2015 was found decapitated. Death Metzker had been working on a series of stories in the Jequitinhonha Valley, one of Brazil's poorest regions, when he was killed. After his body was found, investigators determined that he had been tortured, scalped, and then beheaded. Records show that Metzker had been investigating political corruption, child prostitution, and drug dealing. On his blog, he often reported on corrupt officials and politicians. He was missing for five days before police found his body. His family said the police had received an anonymous tip as to where they could find his remains which were subsequently found near Padre Paraíso in Minas Gerais. Marcos de Barros Leopoldo Guerra (ca. 1963 – December 23, 2014), was a Brazilian blogger known for his blog ''Ubatuba Cobra, located'' in Ubatuba, Brazil. Guerra was known for his denunciation of corrupt politicians in Ubatuba and nearby São Paulo. He died after being shot by two men in his home in Ubatuba. Guerra had been receiving death threats in response to the political content of his blog prior to his murder. Personal Guerra, 51 years old at the time of his murder, was born around 1963. He resided at Rua Santa Genoveva in the Praia do Tenório (Translated: Tenório Beach) neighborhood of Ubatuba, Brazil. Décio Sá
Décio Sá (ca. 1970 – April 23, 2012) was a Brazilian political journalist for ''O Estado do Maranhão'' and a blogger for ''Blog do Décio'' and at one time worked for ''Folha de S. Paulo''. He was gunned down in a bar in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil. Both the Committee to Protect Journalists and Reporters Without Borders confirmed, as well as police, that his death was related to his journalism. Personal Décio Sá was 42-years old when he was murdered. Sá's wife was pregnant at the time and the couple had one child. He was buried in São José de Ribamar on the São Luís Island on 24 April 2012. Padre Paraíso
Padre Paraíso is a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of the state of Minas Gerais. Its population as of 2020 was estimated to be 20,252 people living in a total area of 543 km². The city belongs to the mesoregion of Jequitinhonha and to the microregion of Araçuaí. It became a municipality in 1962. Padre Paraíso is located on the Rio-Bahia highway (BR-116) at an elevation of 664 meters (center of the town). The climate is semi-arid and the region is mountainous. Edinaldo Filgueira, also spelled Ednaldo, (ca. 1975 – 15 June 2011), a Brazilian blogger and journalist, editor, and owner of the newspaper and online ''Jornal o Serrano'' in Serra do Mel, Brazil, was assassinated by gunmen as he left work.
