Grovetown High School
Grovetown High School is located in Grovetown, Georgia, United States, in Columbia County, and opened on August 10, 2009. Its enrollment for the 2010-2011 school was approximately 1300 students; its most recent enrollment approached 2,100. Academics In 2014, Grovetown was ranked as a 2014 Most Challenging High School by ''The Washington Post''. In 2014 the school was recognized for its success with its Advanced Placement Program, receiving recognition as an AP Access & Support School, an AP Stem School, and an AP Stem Achievement School. Kathryn McCormick (born 7 July 1990) is an American actress and dancer, noted for placing third in the sixth season of the American televised dance competition ''So You Think You Can Dance'', in which she had the highest placement for a woman on the season. Ben Hayslip (born March 11, 1970 in Evans, Georgia) is an American country music songwriter. Early life Hayslip first attended Valdosta High School in Valdosta GA where he was a freshman quarterback for the 1984 State and National champion Valdosta Wildcats. In 1985 his family relocated to Evans, Georgia where Hayslip attended Evans High School near Augusta, Georgia. Hayslip became a four-year starter and an All-State first baseman helping to lead the Evans baseball team to a runner-up finish in the 1985 State Championship. In his senior year, his Evans Knights won the 1988 Georgia state championship, finishing with a 29-1 record and a #3 national ranking by USA Today. Forrest Griffin (born July 1, 1979) is an American retired mixed martial artist and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Todd Anthony Greene (born May 8, 1971) is a former Major League Baseball catcher. In an 11-year career, he played for the Anaheim Angels (–), Toronto Blue Jays (2000), New York Yankees (), Texas Rangers (–), Colorado Rockies (–), and San Francisco Giants ().
