Evan Cody
Evan Cody (born 10 November 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays for club side Dicksboro and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a defender. Career Cody first played at juvenile and underage levels with the Dicksboro club. As a schoolboy with CBS Kilkenny, he won consecutive Leinster Colleges Championships. At club level he won a Kilkenny SHC title in 2017. Cody first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny minor hurling team in 2013 before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the Kilkenny senior hurling team in 2016 for the pre-season Walsh Cup, however, after being released from the panel later that season he won an All-Ireland title with the Kilkenny intermediate team. Cody spent the following few seasons on and off the senior team. Dicksboro GAA
Dicksboro is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Kilkenny City, Ireland. History Dicksboro GAA Club, founded in 1909. The club takes its name from Dicksboro townland, located next to Kilkenny Airport, the current ground is Palmerstown, to the west of the city. Dicksboro entered and won the junior championship of 1910. Dicksboro entered the senior championship in 1911. Dicksboro had no team from 1961 to 1969, until the club was reformed. Dicksboro officially opened the grounds in Palmerstown in June 1990. All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling Intermediate All-Ireland Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Effectively contested by the second string teams of the top inter-county hurling sides in Ireland, the tournament has taken place every year since 1997—having originally been run between 1961 and 1973. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during the early summer, and the results determine which team receives the Michael Cusack Cup. The All-Ireland Championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship, however, the qualification procedures for the championship have changed several times throughout its history. 2013 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 2013 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship (also known as the Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the 83rd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 11 April 2013 and ended on 8 September 2013. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were beaten by Limerick in the Munster semi-final. On 8 September 2013 Waterford won the championship following a 1-21 to 0-16 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. This was their 3rd All-Ireland title overall and their first since 1948. 2017 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship
The 2017 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 123rd staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship began on 16 September 2017 and ended 29 October 2017. O'Loughlin Gaels were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Dicksboro in the semi-final. On 29 October 2017, Dicksboro won the championship following a 4-15 to 4-10 defeat of James Stephens in the final. This was their fifth championship title overall and their first since 1993. 2016 Walsh Cup
The 2016 Bord na Móna Walsh Cup was the 54th staging of the Walsh Cup since its establishment in 1954. Dublin were the winners. Format 15 teams compete: 10 county teams from Leinster, Ulster and Connacht (Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Galway, Offaly, Dublin, Meath, Carlow, Antrim, Westmeath) and five third-level colleges: UCD, DIT, NUI Galway, IT Carlow and DCU.
