Evacuation (The Bill)
"Evacuation" is an episode of British TV series ''The Bill'', broadcast in 1988. The episode features one of the show's most early prominent events – the Sun Hill explosion of 1988. The episode was released on DVD as part of ''The Bill – Volume 3'' in 2009. Synopsis PC Tony 'Yorkie' Smith is seen working at the front desk, confronted by a mass of civilians with a variety of complaints. He enters the waiting room to allow the next person in, and in doing so finds a single bag sitting below the counter. He alerts Duty Inspector Christine Frazer and Chief Inspector of Operations Derek Conway, who has bomb disposal informed and the station cleared. Once bomb disposal officers arrive, Desk Sergeant Bob Cryer, and Chief Inspector Derek Conway reenter the building to ascertain if the building is safe. The Bill
''The Bill'' is a British police procedural television series, first broadcast on ITV from 16 August 1983 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, '' Woodentop'', broadcast in August 1983. The programme focused on the lives and work of one shift of police officers, rather than on any particular aspect of police work. ''The Bill'' was the longest-running police procedural television series in the United Kingdom, and among the longest running of any British television series at the time of its cancellation. The title originates from "Old Bill", a slang term for the police. Although highly acclaimed by fans and critics, the series attracted controversy on several occasions. An episode broadcast in 2008 was criticised for featuring fictional treatment for multiple sclerosis. Jeff Stewart (actor)
Jeffrey Stewart (born 28 October 1955) is a Scottish actor. He is best known for playing PC Reg Hollis on the ITV drama series ''The Bill'' from 1984 to 2008. Early life Stewart was born in Aberdeen. He and his family moved to Southampton, Hampshire, when he was three months old. His father worked in shipyards and then for Fawley Refinery. Kevin Reardon Lloyd (28 March 1949 – 2 May 1998) was a British television actor, who came to prominence in the role of DC Alfred "Tosh" Lines in Thames Television's police drama series ''The Bill''. Early life Lloyd was born in Derby in the county of Derbyshire on 28 March 1949. His father was Welsh. Ellis Aled Lloyd, was a police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1970. Larry Dann (born 15 May 1941 in London, England) is a British film and television actor. His acting career began by a fluke, with "a chance knock at the door looking for kids to work in films." Roger Leach (22 April 1948 – 1 December 2001) was an English-Australian actor who played Sgt. Tom Penny in ''The Bill'', and guest starred in '' Bergerac'', ''Perfect Scoundrels'' and ''Doctors''. Early life Roger was born in Sydney, Australia and read English at Sydney University where he also participated in rowing and other athletics. He won a scholarship to the Central School of Speech and Drama and moved to the UK in 1971. He had many acting roles, including 42 appearances at the Salisbury Playhouse.
