Eva Maria van Esch (born 12 May 1986 in Rossum) is a Dutch politician, currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Party for the Animals (''Partij voor de Dieren'', ''PvdD''). She was appointed on 9 October 2019, taking the seat of outgoing party leader Marianne Thieme Marianne Louise Thieme (, born 6 March 1972) is a Dutch politician, author and animal rights activist. A jurist by education, she served as the Party for the Animals' political leader from 2002 to 2019 and a member of the House of Representatives .... She previously served as the party's faction leader in the Utrecht City Council. Political positions Van Esch proposes that dogs should be allowed into hospitals to visit their owners’ deathbeds. Rossum, Gelderland
Rossum is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Rossum was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1999, when it was merged with Maasdriel. History It was first mentioned in 893 as Rotheheym, and means "settlement near cleared forest". Marianne Louise Thieme (, born 6 March 1972) is a Dutch politician, author and animal rights activist. A jurist by education, she served as the Party for the Animals' political leader from 2002 to 2019 and a member of the House of Representatives from 2006 to 2019. Life before politics Thieme studied at Duno College in Doorwerth. After that she studied from 1991 to 1992 at the Sorbonne in Paris, France.
