Eva Heller
Eva Heller (8 April 1948 - 31 January 2008) was a German writer and social scientist. She was born in Esslingen am Neckar. Career As a writer, she published in a wide range of genres, including novels, children's books and non-fiction works. Her work has been translated into English. Her novel ''With the Next Man Everything Will Be Different'' was translated by Krishna Winston and won the Schlegel-Tieck Prize. Esslingen Am Neckar
Esslingen am Neckar ( Swabian: ''Esslenga am Neckor'') is a town in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, seat of the District of Esslingen as well as the largest town in the district. Within Baden-Württemberg it is the 11th largest city. It is located on the river Neckar, about southeast of Stuttgart city center. The regions surrounding the city of Esslingen are also mostly developed. Esslingen was a free imperial city for several centuries until it was annexed by Württemberg in 1802. The German Timber-Frame Road passes through the city. History Prehistoric times There is archaeological evidence that what is now the city of Esslingen was settled since the Neolithic period. Krishna Winston
Krishna Winston is an American academic and translator of German literature. She is the daughter of translators Richard and Clara Winston.Fraser, C. She is currently the Marcus L. Taft Professor of German Language and Literature at Wesleyan University. She has translated more than 30 books, including works by Oskar Schlemmer, Golo Mann, Grete Weil, Christoph Hein, Peter Handke, Werner Herzog, and Günter Grass. She has received several prizes for excellence in translation. These include the Schlegel-Tieck Prize (twice) and the Kurt and Helen Wolff Prize. Burial, also known as interment or inhumation, is a method of final disposition whereby a dead body is placed into the ground, sometimes with objects. This is usually accomplished by excavating a pit or trench, placing the deceased and objects in it, and covering it over. A funeral is a ceremony that accompanies the final disposition.
