European Democratic Party (Czech Republic)
The European Democratic Party ( cs, Evropská demokratická strana, EDS) was a Czech liberal conservative, Pro-European political party founded in November 2008, and chaired by Jana Hybášková. Formation EDS was registered with the Czech Ministry of the Interior in the week prior to 27 November 2008. It was announced to the public at the National Gallery in Prague on 26 November 2008. Position EDS focusses on the economic development of the Czech Republic, the adoption of the euro and energy security. It is for European integration and adopting European law in Czech legislation. Nomenclature EDS shares a name with the europarty called the ''European Democratic Party'', but it is not connected with it. Ivan Wilhelm
Ivan Wilhelm (1 May 1942, Trnava) is a Czech nuclear physicist and former rector of the Charles University in Prague. Wilhelm graduated from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague with a degree in nuclear physics. Until 1967, he also lectured there. Václav Havel (; 5 October 193618 December 2011) was a Czech statesman, author, poet, playwright, and former dissident. Jiří Šedivý
Jiří Šedivý (born 20 August 1963) is a Czech politician and diplomat. Although not member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), Šedivý has served in various ministerial positions in ODS-led governments. Specifically, he served as Minister of Defence (September 2006 - January 2007) and as Deputy Minister for European Affairs (January 2007 - August 2007) under Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek, and again as Deputy Minister of Defence (November 2010 to August 2012) under Prime Minister Petr Nečas. In September 2007, he became the highest-ranking Czech in NATO's history when he became the Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning. Věra Jourová (; born 18 August 1964) is a Czech politician and lawyer who has been the Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency since 1 December 2019 and previously served as the European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality from 2014 to 2019. The European Democratic Party (EDP) ( French: Parti Démocrate Européen; PDE) also known as the European Democrats, is a centrist European political party in favour of European integration. Jana Hybášková
Jana Hybášková (born 26 June 1965 in Prague) is a Czech politician and diplomat, who currently serves as the Ambassador of the European Union in Namibia. She served as a Member of the European Parliament for the SNK European Democrats (part of the European People's Party) from 2004 to 2009, and as the Ambassador of the European Union in Iraq from 2011 to 2015. She was the chair of the European Democratic Party (EDS) from 2008 to 2010.
