''Europe's Biggest Dance Show 2019'' was the first edition of ''Europe's Biggest Dance Show'', a multinational dance music simulcast presented by Euroradio and hosted by BBC Radio 1, in collaboration with seven other radio stations from across Europe: 1LIVE, Fritz, Mouv', NPO 3FM, RTÉ 2FM, SR P3 and Studio Brussel. Background The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced on 27 September 2019 that it would join radio stations from seven other countries, and a potential audience of 18 million listeners, in hosting a one-off dance music simulcast on 11 October. The simulcast started at 19:00 BST and finished at 02:00 BST on 12 October, with Annie Mac introducing for BBC Radio 1 in London. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. Annie Mac (born 18 July 1978), is an Irish DJ, broadcaster and writer. She hosted a variety of shows on BBC Radio 1, including BBC Switch and ''Future Sounds''. She also DJed in various locations, including hosting her AMP (Annie Mac Presents) Lost and Found venues in places like Ibiza. Personal life Annie Mac was born in Dublin, Ireland on 18 July 1978. After attending Wesley College in Dublin, she studied English literature at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. Annie lives in Queen's Park, London. She has a son (born May 2013) with her husband DJ Toddla T. She gave birth to her second child on 6 January 2017. Amelie Lens
Amelie Lens (, ; born 31 May 1990) is a Belgian electronic music DJ, record producer, and owner of the Lenske record label. Her debut release came on Italian imprint Lyase, and soon after a trio of releases on Pan-Pot's Second State. As a resident at Hasselt's Labyrinth Club, Lens started curating her own nights under the name EXHALE. Charlotte de Witte (born 21 July 1992) is a Belgian DJ and record producer, best known for her "dark and stripped-back" brand of minimal techno and acid techno music. Robin Alexander Schulz (; born 28 April 1987) is a German musician, DJ and record producer. On 4 February 2014, he released the first single from his debut album, a remix of "Waves" by Dutch hip hop artist Mr. Probz. Rebecca & Fiona is a Swedish DJ duo from Stockholm. The duo was founded by Rebecca Scheja and Fiona FitzPatrick in 2007, when they met at a party and started to work and make music together as DJs. Broadcasting House
Broadcasting House is the headquarters of the BBC, in Portland Place and Langham Place, London. The first radio broadcast from the building was made on 15 March 1932, and the building was officially opened two months later, on 15 May. The main building is in Art Deco style, with a facing of Portland stone over a steel frame. A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track.
