Europa Point F.C. is a football team from Gibraltar. The club currently plays in the Gibraltar National League the top senior tier of association football in Gibraltar. They also participate in the Rock Cup, the territory's primary cup competition. History The club formed in 2014 amidst the growing interest in association football on the territory of Gibraltar. The club held trials specifically aimed at bringing in youth team players that had been released by professional sides in England and Spain with the goal of getting them back into competitive football, with club founder John Gontier having formerly worked with such players while working for League Football Education. Victoria Stadium (Gibraltar)
Victoria Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Gibraltar. It is currently used mostly for football matches, but also hosts the annual Gibraltar Music Festival. It is located close to Gibraltar Airport just off Winston Churchill Avenue. It was named after the wife of Gibraltarian philanthropist John Mackintosh. Despite initial plans to replace the stadium in the 2010s, the Gibraltar Football Association purchased the stadium from the Government of Gibraltar in April 2017 in order to improve and renovate it. The redevelopment of the stadium is due to start in late 2022, with the national team announcing they will play UEFA and FIFA games in Faro, Portugal. Corey Woolfolk
Corey Woolfolk (born February 2, 1979, in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is a former American soccer forward, and current chairman of Gibraltar Second Division team Europa Point, as well as part of a consortium owning Dundalk. Woolfolk attended Pioneer High School, where he was a 1996 first team All State and NSCAA High School All American. He then attended Stanford University, where he played on the men's soccer team from 1997 to 2000. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in urban planning. On February 6, 2001, the San Jose Earthquakes drafted Woolfolk in the 5th round (49th overall in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft. He played seven preseason games, scoring four goals. The Earthquakes waived Woolfolk on May 30, 2001, to free up a roster spot for Landon Donovan. On June 18, 2001, Woolfolk signed with the Minnesota Thunder in the USL A-League. The Gibraltar Women's Football League is the top level amateur women's football championship of Gibraltar. Due to the lack of resources available for women's football, the league has been contested by five teams since 2021, and the league is treated as a development competition. This status means that, as of the 2021 season, clubs are ineligible to enter the UEFA Women's Champions League. History The earliest known record of the competition dates back to 1999, when three teams (Manchester United, Lions and Victoria United) took part. However, the league was seemingly abandoned mid-season with Manchester United top of the table. 2020–21 Gibraltar National League
The 2020–21 Gibraltar National League season is the second season of the new Gibraltar National League in Gibraltar, and the 122nd season of football on the territory overall. There are no reigning champions this season, as the previous season was declared abandoned as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league is due to kick off on 16 October 2020. Instead of qualifying for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League, teams placed 2nd, 3rd and the 2021 Rock Cup winners will qualify for the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League. Format The structure of the league will follow that of the previous season. Teams will play one round of games as a single league, before splitting into two groups: the Championship Group contested by the top 6 sides, and the Challenge Group between the bottom 6 sides. Ian Michael Hendon (born 5 December 1971) is an English football manager and former player who played as a defender. Playing career Hendon was born in Ilford, Greater London. Primarily a right-back but sometimes deployed in the centre or in midfield, he began his career with Tottenham Hotspur, winning the FA Youth Cup in 1990.
